Introduction

I experienced, that when it comes to traveling efficiently and comfortably, having the right backpack system can make all the difference. In this blog post, I’m thrilled to share with you my innovative backpack system that combines both practicality and convenience. To be honest, I am a little bit proud! Inspired by a backpack combination with a attachment system from Osprey . By utilizing a larger backpack on my back and a smaller one on my chest, I’ve found a way to enhance my travel experience while keeping my essentials within easy reach.

The Backpackturtle: Bigger and Smaller, Back and Front

The Setup

Bigger Backpack (55x40x25cm)

This serves as the primary backpack and is worn on my back. It accommodates larger items like clothes in vacuum bags, slippers, and my laptop. With its generous capacity, it ensures I have everything I need for my journey.

Smaller Backpack (40x25x20cm)

This backpack is worn in front of my chest for quick access. It’s ideal for smaller essentials, such as, waterbottle, travel documents, snacks, or anything I want to keep within arm’s reach.

The Challenge: Ensuring Stability and Convenience

One challenge I encountered with this dual backpack setup was ensuring that the front backpack stayed secure and didn’t slip off while I was on the move. I wanted a solution that allowed me to attach and detach the front backpack easily without the hassle of putting it on or taking it off repeatedly.

Crafting the Solution

Getting Creative with Carabiners and Nylon Straps

To address this challenge, I decided to use carabiners and nylon straps . My smaller backpack already had D-rings on its handles, which provided the perfect anchor points for this solution.

Sewing for Security

I sewed a combination of carabiners and nylon straps to the handles of my larger backpack. This step was crucial in ensuring stability, preventing the front backpack from slipping off and having a kind of balanced weight on my shoulders.

The Benefits: Why This System Works

Effortless Attachment and Detachment

The beauty of this setup lies in its simplicity. Attaching and detaching the smaller backpack from the bigger one is a breeze. I no longer need to remove the front backpack every time I want to access something, I can simply unclip it.

Accessibility and Convenience

The front backpack serves as my “go-to” compartment for items I frequently need, such as my passport, travel documents, or my waterbottle. This easy accessibility has streamlined my travel experience significantly.

Enhanced Weight Distribution

Wearing the smaller backpack in front actually provides a balanced weight distribution. This makes long walks and navigating crowded spaces much more comfortable. I also realized that my posture while walking is more balanced and my back is straight while walking.

Conclusion: Traveling with Ease and Efficiency

In the world of travel, innovation often arises from necessity. My dual backpack system is a prime (as I said, I am very proud) example of how a simple solution can greatly enhance your travel experience. By combining the convenience of quick access with a stable attachment, I’ve created a setup that complements my explorations perfectly.

The next time you’re planning a journey, consider adopting a similar backpack system to enhance your convenience and efficiency. Remember, travel is all about making the most of your adventure, and sometimes, the smallest adjustments can lead to the most remarkable discoveries.
